This Yoda translator rearranges your sentences into a distinctive back-to-front word order for a playful “speak like a wise old character” effect. Paste a sentence and copy the reordered result.
How to use the Yoda translator
- Type or paste a complete sentence.
- The words are reordered into the inverted style.
- Copy the result for a caption, card or bit of fun.
A playful reordering
The tool moves the later part of each sentence to the front, producing the tumbled, thought-provoking phrasing associated with a certain small green mentor. It works best on complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and gives the most amusing results when read aloud.
Examples
Give it a sentence of four words or more and the second half moves to the front:
| You write | Yoda says |
|---|---|
| You must learn patience my friend. | Patience my friend, you must learn. |
| The path ahead is dark. | Is dark, the path ahead. |
Each sentence is handled separately, so you can paste a whole paragraph and every sentence gets the treatment. For a different kind of scrambling, the reverse word order tool flips a sentence completely back to front.
