Yoda Translator

Rearrange your words, Yoda-style.

Copied to clipboard

This Yoda translator rearranges your sentences into a distinctive back-to-front word order for a playful “speak like a wise old character” effect. Paste a sentence and copy the reordered result.

How to use the Yoda translator

  1. Type or paste a complete sentence.
  2. The words are reordered into the inverted style.
  3. Copy the result for a caption, card or bit of fun.

A playful reordering

The tool moves the later part of each sentence to the front, producing the tumbled, thought-provoking phrasing associated with a certain small green mentor. It works best on complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and gives the most amusing results when read aloud.

Examples

Give it a sentence of four words or more and the second half moves to the front:

You writeYoda says
You must learn patience my friend.Patience my friend, you must learn.
The path ahead is dark.Is dark, the path ahead.

Each sentence is handled separately, so you can paste a whole paragraph and every sentence gets the treatment. For a different kind of scrambling, the reverse word order tool flips a sentence completely back to front.

Frequently asked questions

Is it grammatically accurate?

It is a fun approximation rather than a real grammar engine, so results vary with sentence structure — part of the charm.

What text works best?

Short, complete sentences. Very long or fragmentary text can produce odd (but often funnier) results.

Why did my short sentence not change?

Sentences under four words are left alone — there is not enough to reorder, and flipping them rarely sounds right.

Is it a real language?

No. It is a light-hearted word-reordering effect for entertainment.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. The reordering happens instantly in your browser and nothing is stored or sent.
